"Art and other experiments" - event for the young landscape architecture scene on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 7 p.m. to approx. 9 p.m., digital and in person

Art and landscape architecture have always been closely linked. In times of full order books, optimized efficiency in all planning processes and ever-increasing regulation of awards, the scope for art and experimental approaches in design seems to be diminishing.

This makes it all the more exciting to find out how young offices manage to free themselves from this in their work and perhaps position themselves through an artistic approach. An exchange about idealism, their own aspirations and attempts to translate concepts and experiments into built works. Sebastian Sowa (SOWATORINI Landschaft) and Marcel Tröger (studio erde.) report on their work as an impulse - as a basis for a joint discussion.

Regular meetings are planned in Berlin (GM013), Frankfurt (lichtelandschaften) and Stuttgart (Schuler und Winz Landschaftsarchitekten).

Background: Initiated by the bdla's Young Landscape Architects working group, the "frischgrün_vernetzt" meetup aims to promote and consolidate the exchange of content and networking within the young landscape architecture scene. The regulars' table format is to take place nationwide, locally and digitally via a video meeting. One or two keynote speeches are planned at the beginning of the regulars' tables (e.g. on topics ranging from design methodology to office management), followed by an open discussion.
