We are looking for senior service officers (m/f/d) with a master's or diploma (university) degree in the fields of

environment, nature, landscape, forestry, ecology and geography

priority for department 8 "Network expansion"
at our new Cottbus location.

As an independent regulatory authority, the Federal Network Agency bears responsibility for sustainable competition, future-proof networks and strong consumer protection. We employ around 3,000 people in Bonn, Mainz and 44 other locations.
In Cottbus, under the motto "Secure networks. Shaping the future." we established a new central location last year with exciting and diverse tasks. This means: another hub for the expansion of future-proof and sustainable business, especially in the fields of energy and telecommunications. But the new site also means strengthening the region. It is part of a federal initiative to create 5,000 government offices in regions affected by the coal phase-out. Structural change is the keyword here. With its new location, the Federal Network Agency is helping to make this change in Lusatia a success.

What does the Grid Expansion Department do?
For the energy turnaround to succeed, the German electricity transmission grid must be expanded and strengthened. Based on a network development plan, the legislature determines from where to where a new power line should run. At the suggestion of the transmission system operators, the Grid Expansion Department decides where and how the line should run between these points. In the Grid Expansion Department, we are looking for staff support at the Cottbus site for the approval units (806-808) newly located there. The individual line projects are firmly assigned to the approval units. They are responsible for the actual implementation of two successive procedural steps: federal sectoral planning and plan approval. In the federal sectoral planning, a route corridor is defined and at the end of the plan approval there is a permit for the construction, operation or modification of an extra-high voltage line.

What are your tasks?
You check the applications for federal sectoral planning and plan approval for completeness and plausibility of content
You take part in coordination meetings with the project developers and other parties involved in the approval process
You support the head of the unit in the planning, organization and implementation of hearing dates such as application conferences and discussion dates
You carry out content-related evaluations and assessments of objections and comments, among other things.according to §§ 9, 14 and 22 NABEG
-They prepare the draft decisions within the framework of the federal sectoral planning and the plan approval
-They participate in interdepartmental coordination on fundamental methodological and environmental issues in connection with the approval procedures
For the completion of the tasks, business trips are necessary.

Who are we looking for?
-You have a master's or Diploma(Uni) degree in Conservation Ecology/Economics, Geoecology Landscape Ecology/Economics, Landscape Planning, Land Conservation, Agriculture and Forestry, Forestry Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Land Use Planning/Development/Ordering, Environmental Planning, Geography, Land Use and Water Management, Environmental and Resource Management, or a comparable/similar field of study, or are completing one soon
-It is ideal that you have relevant professional experience in the planning field or bring knowledge of planning and environmental law
-It is ideal that you have basic knowledge of power grid expansion planning or practical experience in this or other areas of infrastructure planning
-You are willing to, to help shape the procedures under politically, technically and communicatively demanding conditions
-You have good comprehension, analytical skills and a great willingness to perform
-You are a committed, determined and flexible personality, who works independently and results-oriented even under time pressure in difficult situations
-You have a confident and authoritative manner as well as assertiveness and negotiation skills
-You are open-minded in a team and cooperative in working with different interdisciplinary actors
-You have good written and oral expression skills as well as good English language skills
- You are willing to travel nationwide
