With a population of around 207,000, the city of Kassel is the center of northern Hesse. We are one of the largest employers in this region and see ourselves as a modern service company whose employees take care of the needs of the citizens of our city in a friendly and competent manner.



In 2023, the city of Kassel adopted the "House Trees for Kassel" project. In future, property owners will be able to plant a tree on their property free of charge. The trees will be provided by the city of Kassel and are intended to contribute to the greening of the city, increase biodiversity and adapt to climate change.



We are looking for the Environment and Garden Office - Open Space Planning Department -



a clerk (f/m/d) for the concept development for the program "House trees for Kassel"



for a limited period of three years from the date of recruitment.



As one of the greenest cities in Germany, the diverse urban open spaces are an essential part of Kassel's quality of life. The importance of open spaces and urban greenery continues to grow. Together with the city's residents, we want to develop and implement diverse, new and innovative open space concepts.



Your tasks

- Developing a concept for the "House Trees for Kassel" program

- Creating a cost estimate for the implementation of the overall concept and

a time schedule

- Leading and managing the project and implementing the developed concept

taking into account the topics of urban development, biodiversity, climate protection, blue

green streets etc.

- Carrying out and coordinating the selection of areas and tree locations in

Your profile

- Completed studies (Bachelor or Diploma) in the field of

Garden architecture, open space planning, landscape planning, forestry or

a comparable qualification

- Several years of professional experience in the relevant field and

Experience in concept development, project management and control

- Experience with the acquisition and implementation of funding programs and with

public relations work are advantageous

- Economic or business management knowledge as well as knowledge of the

application of VOB and public procurement law are desirable

- CAD and GIS knowledge as well as good plant and site knowledge

- Basic knowledge of public administration is an advantage
