Various associations and institutions offer competitions for young people that are aimed at students and/or young professionals, e.g. the Peter-Joseph-Lenné-Prize of the State of Berlin or Europan. The bdla is a cooperation partner of the Peter-Joseph-Lenné-Prize, the world's largest ideas competition for young garden and landscape architects.
Many of these competitions are interdisciplinary. Based on real locations and problems, the participants develop concrete solutions. Issue 2/2021 of our association magazine offers further information and experiences on the subject of competitions.
As a rule, competitions for young designers are not associated with any intention of realization. Competitions for young designers are partly endowed with small prize money, partly connected with idealistic appreciation.
bdla regional associations promote young talent and regularly organize competitions for young designers. The participants can try out their own ideas in practice and develop them further - up to realization, e.g. at garden shows. Young talent prizes reward special achievements in graduation.
