Job Description

Profile of the professorship

You will represent the field of landscape planning in research and develop it further with (inter)national visibility. You will participate in research networks and collaborations within and outside TU Dortmund University. You will be involved in the acquisition of third-party funding, promote young academics and participate in the interdisciplinary teaching of the faculty. The willingness to supervise study projects or drafts is

expected.

The appointment is initially for a period of three years as a temporary civil servant. If the candidate proves their worth as a university lecturer, the civil servant relationship will be extended for a further three years during the third year. At the end of the six-year junior professorship at the latest, if the candidate is suitable, qualified and

performance within the framework of the tenure track, permanent continued employment in a W3 university professorship is possible, provided that the legal requirements of Section 38 of the Higher Education Act of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (HG NRW) are met. The teaching obligation is four semester hours per week in the first three years and five semester hours per week in the last three years if the interim evaluation is positive.



Your qualifications

You can demonstrate your special aptitude for in-depth academic work, usually through an above-average and relevant doctorate. You can already demonstrate initial experience in the dissemination of your research in the field of the professorship in at least one of the following areas



- Landscape planning, including the assessment of ecosystem services,

- Innovative approaches to open space planning and green space design in cities and metropolitan areas



through publications in recognized bodies, including those with peer review. Experience in the acquisition of competitive third-party funding is just as desirable as teaching experience. You also have the potential for outstanding teaching performance. Social and leadership skills and a willingness to participate in academic self-administration complete your profile. In addition, the recruitment requirements of § 36 and § 37 HG NRW apply.
