Head of Department (m/f/d) of Landscape Management / Landscape Architecture





The city administration of Worms is looking to fill a position in Division 6 - Planning and Construction - in Department 6.7 - Green Spaces and Waters - as of 01.06.2024 in the



Pay group 13 TVöD

for an indefinite period

with a regular weekly working time of currently 39 hours

to be filled



Your tasks:

You will manage Department 6.7 - Green Spaces and Waters - with a team consisting of 15 employees in the roles of engineers, inspectors (technicians or foremen) and administrative staff.


They are also responsible for the maintenance budget. In addition, there is a financial budget depending on upcoming construction projects. The annual budget planning and the resulting budget responsibility are also tasks of the department management.



The department plans, builds and maintains public green spaces (130 ha), 87 playgrounds - including playground control - (16 ha) and 26 sports fields (24 ha) and also manages outdoor areas (140 ha) in the city of Worms.




The department also maintains the 2nd and 3rd order watercourses (75 ha and 35 km respectively).



The department is also responsible for the municipal forest areas in cooperation with the Rheinhessen Forestry Office (150 ha). The services also include tree inspection and tree care (around 30,000 trees). The department management represents the department and the construction projects in public media in consultation with the division management.



Your profile:

Your requirements:

-Completed studies in landscape conservation or landscape architecture (Diplom-Ingenieur [m/f/d], Diplom-Ingenieur [m/f/d] [FH], Master's or Bachelor's degree)

-several years of relevant professional experience

-Class B driver's license
