Welcome to the Urban Planning Office of the City of Heidelberg! We are looking for a dedicated specialist to join our team in the Urban Space Climate department. Our main focus is on the design of public spaces with the aim of improving the quality of stay and the cityscape of streets and squares.

As part of the cross-departmental OASIS project, we are working on innovative open space planning solutions to optimize the microclimate in public spaces. Our work focuses on the creation of green oases in urban environments.

Landscape planner or urban planner with specialization in open space planning (m/f/d)



Full-time | permanent | pay group 13 TVöD-V | The position is generally divisible



Your main tasks



- You will independently develop open space design concepts and drafts for public spaces up to service phase 2 HOAI

- You will take over the task definition, tendering, awarding and technical support for open space planning to be created externally

- You accompany third-party specialist planning in the street space and supplement the planning with the aim of positively influencing the urban climate in accordance with the blue-green infrastructure planning approach

- You mediate between your own design aspirations, the wishes of the citizens and the concerns of the specialist departments involved

- You present the results of your work in political committees and public events



Your profile



- You have a degree in engineering in landscape planning, landscape architecture, landscape management or a comparable field with a focus on open space or urban planning


- You have experience in open space design and urban greening as well as in-depth knowledge of surface materials and equipment elements for public spaces

- You have a clear position on urban design issues and show a high level of commitment

- You are adept at using MS Office, CAD or comparable programs and graphics software

- You are characterized by an interdisciplinary, creative and innovative way of working, you are also communicative and can inspire others with your ideas
