A good quality of life and quality of stay, help in coping with climate impacts and support for biodiversity, recreation and encounters, sport and play - a good and appropriate supply of greenery in the city can achieve all of this. This includes all forms of green elements: From street trees to play, sports and open spaces in residential areas to large parks, some of which are under special protection as garden monuments.

So it's no wonder that the city of Aachen attaches particular importance to good green and open space management.

To strengthen the "Green Planning and Construction" team in the Climate and Environment Department, a full-time, permanent position as a landscape architect, landscape planner (m/f/d) is to be filled as soon as possible.

Depending on personal qualifications and existing professional experience, there is the possibility of a specialist allowance of a maximum of 500 euros.



Your main tasks:



Planning and construction of new as well as renovation and conversion of existing green spaces of all kinds: parks, "green city squares", playgrounds and football pitches, multifunctional leisure areas (including outdoor sports facilities) as well as sports fields within the framework of strategic action concepts (e.g. Green Crown, Master Plan Play, Sports Development Plan)

Project planning (all HOAI service phases), including exercising the client function, assuming budget responsibility and deadline management

Preparation and implementation of various forms of citizen information and participation as well as presentation and defense of the planning in council or other specialist committees

Creation of green concepts, green and open space plans as part of specific urban planning and development measures or in the case of measures by external project sponsors Monitoring and review with regard to quantitatively and qualitatively appropriate green provision (incl. sports, play and leisure facilities)

Creating and updating specifications for various green planning contracts



What you bring with you:



A degree (Bachelor/Dipl.-Ing (FH)) in landscape architecture, landscape planning or another discipline with a focus suitable for this position

Alternatively: a degree in civil engineering (Bachelor / Dipl.-Ing. FH) with a specialization in civil engineering and several years of experience in the described area of responsibility

Strong creativity, wide-ranging planning skills and the ability and willingness to work in an interdisciplinary manner

Communication and methodological skills (moderation of and presentation at events with an audience), good written and spoken German language skills as well as a confident manner and negotiating skills

Knowledge and experience in project management

Commitment, ability and willingness to work in a team but also independently and on your own responsibility

Knowledge and experience in working with CAD and GIS



Desirable:



Construction site experience (as a site manager and/or in the client function)

Knowledge and experience in the construction of play and sports facilities

Knowledge of public procurement law (VOB, UVgO)
