The City of Duisburg is looking for the Environmental Agency, Green Department, Lower Nature Conservation Authority, Species Protection

an engineer (f, m, d) in nature conservation



The Lower Nature Conservation Authority has the statutory task of protecting, maintaining, developing and, where necessary, restoring nature and landscapes in populated and unpopulated areas. The department also deals with species protection (commercial and open-air species protection) and urban land-use planning with regard to nature conservation issues. Become part of a team of 15 employees in which great value is placed on a collegial professional exchange.



Your main tasks



Execution of tasks in accordance with the Federal Nature Conservation Act and the State Nature Conservation Act, in the context of landscape development and landscape protection

Preparation of statements on planning and construction procedures

Issuing exemptions under nature conservation law

Initiation of administrative offenses and, if necessary, criminal proceedings in the event of violations of nature conservation regulations, in particular with regard to species protection

Collection of basic information on the occurrence of animal and plant species as part of the legal obligation under the Habitats and Birds Directives, BNatSchG and LNatSchG



Your professional expertise



a university degree (Bachelor's or Diplom FH) in landscape architecture, landscape conservation, ecology, geography, biology or environmental sciences

followed by at least 2 years of relevant professional experience after obtaining the respective above-mentioned qualification



Your personal skills



If possible, practical experience of working for a nature conservation authority

Knowledge of the legal basis (Federal Nature Conservation Act, EU law) and its application (Federal Building Code, Federal Immission Control Act) or the willingness to acquire this knowledge at short notice

Sound knowledge of MS Office software and the specialist applications or the willingness to acquire this

Ability to work in a team and conscientious way of working

Confident appearance, ability to work under pressure, communicative competence, commitment and organizational and negotiating skills as well as special aptitude in dealing with citizens and other public services or institutions



Details



Date of recruitment: with immediate effect

Position: A 12 LBeSG / EG 12 A II/3 TVöD

The consideration of professional experience relevant to the stage will be decided on an individual basis

Salary in accordance with the NRW State Salary Act (LBesG) or

Classification according to the collective agreement for the public service (TVöD)

Full-time (part-time possible in principle)
