Job Description

As of March 1, 2025 or by agreement, you will have the opportunity to head up our Garden Monument Conservation department as part of a succession plan.



Tasks:

You will ensure responsible management of the city of Zurich's garden cultural heritage and actively work to raise public awareness



You gradually take over the strategic and personnel management of the department with four employees and are responsible for the budget



You will manage complex projects, assess planning applications, oversee (mainly private) construction projects and define appropriate measures



You coordinate garden monument preservation activities such as the execution of sovereign tasks within the framework of the Planning and Building Act with almost 1,000 inventory objects



You represent the concerns of Grün Stadt Zürich to various stakeholder groups (municipal, cantonal) and give presentations



Profile:

Completed university degree in landscape architecture or comparable training with a focus on garden monument preservation and ideally further training in project management and leadership



Several years of professional experience and industry knowledge with in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of design and garden monument preservation issues



Strong leadership personality with strategic thinking and an eye for the big picture



High level of assertiveness and persuasiveness



Communication and negotiation skills
