We are looking for a full-time, permanent position with 40 hours per week for the garden department by 01.10.2025 at the latest



Head of Gardens Department (m/f/d)



Grade A 16 BbgBesG if the requirements under civil service law are met or in an employment relationship with remuneration according to EG 15 Ü of the AT pay scale/Land Brandenburg in accordance with the circular of the MIK dated 09.02.2024.



Your responsibilities as Head of Gardens Department (m/f/d) - steeped in history and future-oriented:

You will manage the garden department with more than 180 employees in 9 park districts, the central departmental services and the research, planning and monument preservation department both professionally and disciplinary and develop them strategically and organizationally. They ensure that the garden department contributes to the foundation-wide objectives and loyally represent the department's key topics and expertise within the SPSG and to the public.



What we expect from you:

We are looking for an experienced leader who is able to successfully manage the SPSG's largest department, which is spread across several locations, on several levels.

- University degree (diploma (university) or master's degree) in landscape architecture, landscape planning, landscape conservation or comparable degrees

- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in the conservation of garden monuments

- relevant experience in the conservation of historic gardens in a changing climate and sustainable management

- Experience in the management of public parks and in dealing with the pressure of use and a critical public

You will inspire us with:

- Scientific prerequisites for continuing the SPSG's outstanding national role in research and communication on the subject of historic gardens and climate change

- Experience with participatory involvement of visitors

- Applicable knowledge of building law, contract and procurement law, monument law, budgeting, cash management and accounting as well as standard software

- Relevant experience with the usual specialist digital processes
