Job Description

We are looking for you as of 01.06.2025 as

Scientific Officer (f/m/d) in the fields of cultural landscape development and horticulture

(EG 14 TVöD VKA; reference no. 7602)

for our LWL monument preservation, landscape and building culture in Westphalia.

We offer a part-time position (19.5 hours/week) in the areas of cultural landscape development and garden culture, each limited until 31.08.2025. An extension until 31.10.2026 is probably possible.

Both parts of the position can also be awarded together as full-time employment to one person with the appropriate qualifications.

What we expect from you

- a university degree (Master's/Magister's/Dipl.-Ing. (TU)) in landscape or garden architecture, environmental or open space planning, landscape conservation, geography, art history, archaeology, agricultural or forestry science

or

- another relevant university degree with relevance to the above-mentioned tasks

as well as

- several years of professional experience in public administration (desirable)

- sound knowledge of regional planning, nature conservation, monument protection and building laws

- Strong methodological skills and ability to work conceptually

- Confident manner, ability to work in a team, negotiating skills, willingness to cooperate and ability to integrate

- Class B driving license





Your tasks

The LWL-Denkmalpflege, Landschafts- und Baukultur in Westfalen is an independent specialist office, has a statutory duty to cooperate in all tasks relating to the protection and preservation of monuments and is an expert and advisory institution on issues relating to cultural landscape and garden culture.
Tasks in the field of cultural landscape development

- Expert advice and preparation of expert opinions and statements as part of the public participation in public planning for the cultural landscape

- Scientific treatment of issues relating to the methodology and practice of cultural landscape development and horticulture

Tasks in the field of garden culture

- Recording and publishing gardens and parks of horticultural significance

- Processing model projects on garden culture

- Professional advice and support for regional garden networks and garden owners

- Scientific treatment of issues relating to the methodology and practice of cultural landscape development and garden culture
