In their coalition agreement, the CDU, CSU and SPD have decided to comprehensively combat insect mortality and to launch an "insect protection action programme".
In a joint paper, more than 40 organisations, including the bdla, have drawn up six core demands that are crucial for the success of an action programme.
Under the leadership of the Deutscher Naturschutzring (DNR), the associations call for rapid and comprehensive political action in view of the dramatic losses of insects.
