The Federal Ministry of the Interior for Building and Housing (BMI) and the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR) intend to carry out model projects in the new ExWoSt research field Green Urban Labs II.

The call for projects is aimed at medium-sized and large cities under growth pressure that want to further develop their green infrastructure in a future-oriented way. Municipal strategies and projects are sought that show how urban green and open spaces can be qualified, developed and designed in the sense of a double internal development, even in the face of redensification and pressure of use.

Special interest is given to approaches that leave the framework of established practice, show courage for unconventional approaches and open up new contexts of space and use.
