On January 3, 2022, the competition for the German Building Award 2022 was launched. This competition, which is recognized by experts as the most important award in the field of residential construction in Germany, has been organized every two years for more than three decades by the KOOPERATION Working Group (AG KOOP), consisting of the German Association of Cities (DST), the Association of German Architects (BDA) and the German Housing Industry Association (GdW).

The goal of the award is to recognize the responsible efforts of developers to create affordable housing and neighborhoods in "High Quality at Affordable Cost." Residential projects completed in the period 01.01.2018 to 31.12.2021 can be submitted.

Applications can only be submitted online via the portal www.einreichung-deutscherbauherrenpreis.de. The online portal closes on 14.03.2022 (2 p.m.).

The German Building Award will be presented at the next Federal Congress on National Urban Development, which is scheduled for fall 2022 in Berlin.
