The German Federal Environment Ministry is promoting precautionary measures against climate risks in municipalities. Cities and municipalities can apply for funding from December 1, 2021.
The focus of the new funding round of the BMU program "Measures for Adaptation to the Consequences of Climate Change" is on establishing sustainable adaptation management in municipalities.
In addition, the BMU wants to provide targeted funding for innovative, local model projects that protect against damage caused by extreme weather events. The BMU is looking for innovative, sustainable ideas from cities, municipalities and other local actors that can serve as examples for other municipalities in Germany.
