Under the motto "New for each other in the center", initiatives - individuals and families, companies and business cooperations, clubs, associations and social institutions - are awarded prizes for contributing alone or together to lively meeting, supply and living places in the center of a small town or municipality. The bdla is the conceptual partner of the competition.

Projects submitted must not be more than seven years old and must be assigned to one of the three thematic areas: meeting, providing or living. The prize money ranges from €2,000 to €7,500. Applications can be submitted from May 19 to July 31, 2022, using the entry form at www.menschenunderfolge.de. An award ceremony will be held in November in Berlin or Brandenburg.
