IFLA Europe Congress in Espoo, Finland

Entitled "Boldness andamp; Beauty," the International Landscape Architecture Congress will be held on the campus of Aalto University in Espoo, near Helsinki, on October 14, 2022.

Together with IFLA Europe, Aalto University and the Finnish professional association of landscape architects, MARK, the congress will offer a variety of keynote speeches, project presentations and seminars on topics such as how good design and the role of the profession can be implemented against the background of global climate change, requirements for resource conservation and cradle-to-cradle approaches.

In addition, the congress aims to further promote professional exchange, networking with European colleagues and the attention of landscape architecture in politics and society. The congress will be opened by the presidents of IFLA-Europe, Katerina Gkoltsiou and MARK, Pia Kuusiniemi. In addition, excursions to selected landscape architecture projects near the Finnish capital will be offered the day before.

In addition, the IFLA-Europe Award will be presented to Sirpa Pietikäinen, Member of the European Parliament, in order to send a strong political signal of the profession to the national and European institutions.
