The German Building Award 2022 will be presented in Berlin on September 15, 2022. The award ceremony will take place for the first time as part of the Federal Congress on National Urban Development Policy.
This year, 187 projects completed between 2018 and 2021 applied for the 2022 German Builders' Award. A total of 29 housing projects were selected in a two-stage process by an interdisciplinary jury chaired by Susanne Wartzeck, President of the Association of German Architects BDA.
The German Building Award is the most important prize in German residential construction and since 1986 has honored outstanding residential construction projects that are both of high quality and have been implemented at a reasonable cost. It is awarded by the three sponsoring associations GdW, BDA and DST; sponsors include the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Construction and the bdla.
