The 'Sustainability Declaration' is a guideline developed as part of the Phase Sustainability initiative for identifying, discussing and anchoring sustainability goals in the project with the client at an early stage. It is a practical tool for all responsible parties involved in the construction process to enter the topic of sustainability step by step and to accompany the building owners in sustainability issues in a structured manner.
The central documents of the 'Declaration of Sustainability', which currently exist for the fields of architecture and interior design, landscape architecture and structural engineering, summarize the most important topics for sustainable building with concrete options for action.
The 'Phase Sustainability' initiative was launched in 2019 jointly by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB e.V.) and the German Federal Chamber of Architects (BAK). The initiative is supported by the Bund Deutscher Landschaftsarchitekt:innen (bdla), the Bund Deutscher Architektinnen und Architekten (BDA), the Bund Deutscher Innenarchitekten (bdia) and the Bund Deutscher Baumeister, Architekten und Ingenieure (BDB).
