At the age of 57, Prof. Sigurd Karl Henne, landscape architect bdla, partner at BHM Planungsgesellschaft mbH, Bruchsal/Nürtingen, and since 2007 professor for the teaching areas "Landscape Architecture and Plant Use" at the Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences, passed away completely unexpectedly on August 13, 2023.
Sigurd Henne began his studies in landscape architecture at the Technical University of Munich in 1988, graduating in 1995. After three years of employment as head of open space planning in the office of Jung undamp; Partner, Landscape Architects undamp; Consultants, a position as research associate at the chair of Prof. Peter Latz followed in 1998, where he taught the subject "Technique of Landscape Architecture" and placed a research focus on vegetation technology and vegetation management. In 1999 he took over the management and development of open space planning in the office of Rainer Mühlinghaus, with whom he entered into a partnership under the name "Mühlinghaus Henne" in 2001. From 2005 to 2007 he again accompanied the teaching at the TUM in the subject Technology of Landscape Architecture. In 2006 Sigurd Henne became co-partner of Bresch, Henne, Mühlinghaus Planungsgesellschaft with the then office locations in Bensheim and Oberhausen-Rheinhausen, which later became the locations in Bruchsal, Nürtingen and Freiburg im Breisgau.
In 2007, he was appointed professor at the Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences, where he has since held the chair for "Landscape Architecture and Plant Use". In addition, he headed the teaching and experimental gardens and was a founding member and idea provider of the "Academy for Vegetation Technology and Landscaping (avela)" in 2009. At the university, in 2011, he took over the position of Vice Dean of the Faculty of Landscape Architecture, Environmental and Urban Planning and as Dean of Studies of the Landscape Architecture program.
The profession, the association loses an active promoter, valued colleague, creative mind and good friend.
