The Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building is awarding the Federal Urban Green Prize for the third time. For the year 2024, the Federal Award focuses on the importance of urban green spaces for promoting health through exercise and sport.
The national competition recognizes exemplary practical examples, projects and programmes that show how urban greenery motivates people to be more active. Cities and municipalities with a population of 3,000 or more as well as city and municipal cooperations can now apply with their projects and programs.
Planning offices, initiatives or associations are explicitly invited to take part in cooperation with their municipalities. An independent jury, which includes bdla Vice President Timo Herrmann, bbz landschaftsarchitekten berlin gmbh, and Gabi Pütz, landscape architect bdla, gruppe F Freiraum für alle GmbH, Berlin, will decide in April 2024 which projects will be awarded prizes and recognition.
