From September 11 to 14, the bdla took part in the leading international trade fair for the planning, construction and maintenance of urban and green spaces, GaLaBau in Nuremberg, at its own stand for the fourth time in a row. The atmosphere and interest in the bdla exceeded all expectations.
The days at the trade fair were characterized by exchange and networking, but also further training and information.
On Thursday, September 12, the bdla construction meeting took place with several presentations on questions of construction technology and construction management in open space planning. The speakers Kathrin Scharsich (Staatliche Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt für Gartenbau, Heidelberg), Martin Belz (City Arc | Institut für Stadtnatur AG, Freiburg), Elke Hornoff (Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences) and Sascha Hatje (Otto Dörner, Kies und Deponien GmbH) spoke knowledgeably and competently about pollinator-friendly planting, green buildings in the city, statics for supporting structures and the substitute building materials ordinance.
The current exhibition of the AG Junge Landschaftsarchitekt:innen, FRISCHGRÜN - Junge Landschaftsarchitektur, was also shown at the trade fair stand in Hall 3A.
And the bdla, together with many other partners, was part of the green-blue path - "Together climate-fit into the future", the anniversary show of the green sector.
The bdla Pixi booklet about landscape architect Lena alone was passed around the stand 900 times.
The highlight was the reception on the same evening together with NürnbergMesse GmbH.

bdla President Prof. Stephan Lenzen warmly welcomed the more than 140 guests. He paid tribute to Nuremberg as an exhibition venue and emphasized the importance of GaLaBau as the green industry meeting place for planners, garden, landscape and sports field construction companies, businesses, associations, universities, media publishers, etc.
"Especially in these gray times, we should bring the positive green and colorful view of our world to the outside world in the cities and villages, so that the green displaces the gray and especially the brown. Let us convince people of the beauty and rightness of our climate-friendly, green-blue and colorful urban landscapes tirelessly and louder than ever before!" said Lenzen.
He thanked the Bundesverband Garten-, Landschafts-, und Sportplatzbau e.V. and NürnbergMesse for offering landscape architects the opportunity to take a look at the entire range of products and services for the planning, construction and maintenance of urban, green and open spaces, to track down innovative developments in the landscaping industry and to present the association of planners for four days at the trade fair.
The next GaLaBau will take place from September 15 - 18, 2026.
