At the invitation of Christian Rinn, Managing Director, and Luisa Rinn, Managing Director Heuchelheim and Steinbach, 12 representatives of the companies and associations sponsoring the German Landscape Architecture Award 2025 competitioncame to the headquarters of Rinn Beton- und Naturstein GmbH undamp; Co KG in Heuchelheim on November 7, 2024, accompanied by Prof. Stephan Lenzen, bdla President, and Timo Herrmann, bdla Vice President.
Rinn is not only a family-run company since 1900, now in its 4th and 5th generation, but has also been a sponsor from the very beginning: in 1999, Bruns Nursery and Rinn were the very first sponsors of the competition.
Luisa and Christian Rinn warmly welcomed the attendees and gave a brief outline of the company's 125-year history - from the first concrete slotted channel to the cement-reduced climate stone - of over 500 employees at a total of 3 locations (Heuchelheim, Steinbach and Stadtroda), the company's responsibility for a sustainable society and environment through, for example, CO2-neutral production, the use of 100% green electricity and filtered rainwater instead of drinking water in production.
Those present were then able to see this for themselves during the subsequent tour of the production facility with Christian Ferber, member of the management team.
In the discussion on the competition, the bdla representatives presented the bdla's plans for the current competition, for which online submissions have been possible since November 1, 2024. Together, the promoter and sponsors want to do everything they can to make the 17th competition year a success once again in order to redecorate the "showcase" of German landscape architecture.
