The Executive Committee met in the BUGA city of Heilbronn on 23 May 2019.
A central item on the agenda was the follow-up to the advisory board meeting with new objectives of the overall association. A task arises, for example, from the consideration of the bdla Bavaria to initiate a regional landscape architecture competition. The suggestion of Till Rehwaldt in the advisory board was for this that the federal association makes available to the regional groups the on-line tool developed for the German landscape architecture price. In this context, the presidium wants to promote the creation of a simple, overarching concept for several regional groups. Synergies should be the guiding principle there and also in all other fields of action of the bdla.
Two topics shaped the professional exchange: On the one hand, the presidium agreed to concretize the bdla's further need for action in the field of climate change/climate adaptation. The topic also takes up a lot of space in the regional groups. It is of considerable importance for the two major areas of the profession, open space planning and landscape planning, which is why the relevant specialist spokespersons are involved.
On the other hand it concerned intensively the potential contribution of the bdla for the production of occupation new generation for planning offices and administration. For this one wants to become lastingly active. Starting point of all considerations is the estimate that the need for specialists will be higher than the offer in the medium and long term. The executive committee would like to examine this focus in the association retreat at the end of 2019 together with the regional group chairpersons and define as concrete fields of action and projects as possible.
