Apply through the online process. Closing date 22 January 2019
The bdla has awarded the German Landscape Architecture Prize for the 14th time. With the more intensive use of urban and landscape spaces, ever higher demands are being placed on the performance of the environment. Urban growth and simultaneous emptying of rural regions, climate change, energy transition and economic challenges generate pressure to adapt and conflicts. Great efforts are currently being made to adapt existing infrastructures to the changed conditions, and entire systems are being rebuilt. The development and implementation of these new systems requires a fundamental rethink at all planning levels.
The prize is awarded to exemplary projects and their authors. The subject matter is socially and ecologically oriented settlement and landscape development as well as contemporary open space planning. The prize is awarded for outstanding planning achievements, including conceptual ones, which demonstrate aesthetically sophisticated, innovative, ecological and participatory solutions.
Horst Seehofer, the Federal Minister of the Interior, for Building and Home Affairs, has been requested as patron.
