Membership directory and information on the Association of German Landscape Architects
The annual handbook, published by the bdla, was released by Patzer Verlag just in time for the start of the year. All facts and data relating to the professional association are summarized on around 230 pages in a handy A5 format. In its tried-and-tested form and brought up to date, the 2024 handbook provides an overview of the association's structures and statutes as well as its memberships.
A separate chapter is dedicated to the decisions in the German Landscape Architecture Award 2023 competition. bdla Executive Committee member Franz Reschke notes in his foreword: "The competition for the German Landscape Architecture Award is an important means of bringing the development processes and the people behind these projects, the landscape architects, into the focus of public perception. Stimulating an exchange on sustainable concepts and the creation of tomorrow's public open spaces, conveying the background to tasks and innovative solutions - these are important building blocks for positioning the profession in the ongoing discussion about the distribution of roles in the planning of our living environment."
The Service chapter contains a description of the job description and the overview "Services - What the bdla offers its members". An updated bibliography completes the chapter.
Generously designed and brought up to date, the bdla 2024 handbook contains a directory of the approx. 1,400 landscape architects in the bdla as well as the list of experts. It also provides information on landscape architecture training centres, the international landscape architecture associations IFLA and IFLA-Europe, and lists associations and other organizations of national standing.
The bdla 2024 handbook is published by Patzer Verlag, Berlin/Hanover. The publication costs 17 euros (plus shipping), ISBN 978-3-87617-180-7, see https://shop.patzerverlag.de/kategorie/buecher/.
