The bdla Thuringia was in charge of the competition.
Theme: Erfurt's hidden places
The aim of the competition was to design a public green space along the narrow Gera river. In addition, a building area for a future residential development along Mittelhäuser Straße was to be defined, taking into account the existing buildings.
The processing area is located in the north of Erfurt on Mittehäuser Straße, only a few meters away from Ilversgehofener Platz. To the west, the area is bordered by the narrow Gera River and to the east by Mittelhäuser Strasse, to the south it borders the development along Tiergarten Strasse and to the north it ends at Heiligen Mühle. The surrounding area is very heterogeneous: there are historic buildings that indicate the village structure of Ilversgehofen, but there are also row buildings from the post-war period on Reiherweg or fragments of perimeter block development on Roststrasse and Salinenstrasse. The processing area is almost flat and is dominated in large parts by a large meadow area.
