At the beginning of the presidium meeting on 13.12. 2017, Till Rehwaldt reported that the agreement on international cooperation between BAK and bdla had been signed the previous evening.

The aim is a more efficient representation of the interests of landscape architects on the European and international stage. As of 2018, the BAK is a full member of IFLA, the bdla an associate member.

Guest of the executive committee meeting was Markus Illgas, bdla spokesman for construction technology and standards. He reported on the activities of the working group, whose core task is to discuss current draft standards and take a position. In addition, it has been possible to activate delegates for participation in other standards committees in DIN, the FGSV and the FLL. Furthermore, Markus Illgas gave an outlook on future construction manager meetings. The review showed that the topic of BIM had attracted great interest in 2017. In order to anchor the cross-sectional topic in the association, the presidium advocated the establishment of a BIM working group.

With the retirement of Prof. Ludwig Schegk from the FLL Presidium in March 2018 due to provisions of the statutes, the Presidium asks Markus Illgas to run for the bdla.

Against the background of the meetings with representatives of the NürnbergMesse for GaLaBau 2018, the presidium asked Markus Ill-gas to continue the tradition of the bdla construction meeting within the framework of the GaLaBau 2018 trade fair, which he agreed to do.
Due to lively demand in 2017, the bdla is also planning a further training event in 2018 on "Fachbeitrag wasserrechtliche Prüfung bei Planung und Vorhabenzulassung", ditto on environmental construction supervision.

The Federal Congress of Green Associations will take place from 7 to 9 June 2018 in Frankfurt am Main with a focus on green space management and maintenance. The bdla will also participate in the symposia of the Fachvereinigung Bauwerksbegrünung 2018 on building greenery and in the Baukulturwerkstätten of the Bundesstiftung Baukultur.
