Sports and exercise areas fulfil a variety of social, ecological and design functions, as they promote quality of life, health and social interaction.

In view of the increasing health problems in all age groups and the experiences of the coronavirus pandemic, it is of the utmost importance to promote and sustainably organise sports and exercise spaces.

Among other things, the working group has set itself the goal of developing recommendations for action, stimulating the exchange of knowledge among colleagues and developing statements in the political arena.

The members have extensive expertise in the planning of sports and exercise spaces. The slogan ‘Planning for movement, designing for health’ emphasises the central role in shaping a healthy, sustainable and climate-resilient future.
