The Federal Government has presented an ordinance (19/17344) on the avoidance and compensation of interventions in nature and landscape within the jurisdiction of the Federal Administration (BKompV).
This is intended to standardise, accelerate and make transparent the intervention regulation under nature conservation law for federal projects, while at the same time maintaining high standards of nature conservation.
The Bundestag still has to approve the ordinance in accordance with section 15 of the Federal Nature Conservation Act - the consultations are currently taking place and should be completed by the end of March.
