Conference on 12.12.2023, Berlin and livestream online.
Berlin and Germany need change to meet the challenges of climate change. It is important to create green and blue infrastructures, expand and upgrade transport routes, and promote renewable energy and distribution networks. There are constantly new ideas and suggestions on how to make planning and construction faster and more efficient.
In July 2023, the state of Berlin published a revised version of the Berlin Guidelines for the Assessment and Balancing of Interventions in Nature and Landscape. The conference "Opportunities, challenge and readaptation: developments of the impact regulation in Berlin and on federal level" takes up this new edition and presents new approaches from it. A central aspect for the future will be how climate adaptation measures can be increasingly implemented in the direction of a climate-resilient sponge city, also through compensation measures, and how these can be evaluated in the procedure for balancing intervention and compensation.
Another focus of the meeting will be the discussion on the draft legislation on the so-called "Natural Areas Act". The political debate on the equalization of real compensation and compensation payments will also be addressed. The current developments on the future design of the impact regulation will be examined from a legal, planning practice, nature conservation and official perspective and evaluated with regard to their intended acceleration effects.
The conference, commissioned by the Berlin Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment, will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the German Architecture Center (DAZ) in Berlin. Participation is free of charge and possible on site and online via livestream.
