Callwey Verlag organizes private garden competition for the tenth time. Submissions possible until July 8, 2024

Callwey Verlag is organizing the GÄRTEN DES JAHRES competition for the tenth time. Together with its partners, including the bdla, the media company is looking for the best private gardens designed by landscape architects, gardeners and landscapers in German-speaking countries. For the first time, the Newcomer of the Year award will be presented to young offices (not founded before 2021).

Several projects can be submitted - until July 8, 2024. The submission fee per project is 190.00 euros. The award ceremony will take place on February 18, 2025 at Ebben Nurseries in Cuijk, the Netherlands. The 50 best gardens will be published in a comprehensive illustrated book by Callwey Verlag and presented in an exhibition.

The entries will be judged by an independent jury, in which Irene Burkhardt, landscape architect from Munich, will participate on behalf of the bdla.

The Garden Photography of the Year will be awarded for the sixth time in 2024: From the 50 gardens in the yearbook, the jury will select a photo series that stands out in particular. The criteria are: Perspective on the garden, general impression, visual language, selected image details, representation of the garden.
