In two videos, the ARD alpha Uni aktuell series sheds light on studying and starting a career as a landscape architect.

Nora Ophardt reports from the perspective of a young professional at GREENBOX Landscape Architects. At the request of the bdla, Nora volunteered to give an insight into her professional life for a day: "I am passionate about the topics of landscape architecture and believe that we do not have to hide behind structural architects in our professional activities. On the contrary, we should use our professional expertise to set the tone in many of the areas relevant to the future - from climate adaptation and the sustainable use of resources to the democratic use and distribution of space - in order to drive forward a holistic rethink in the construction industry."

Jakob Endemann is accompanied in a practice-oriented study project. He is studying landscape architecture in his 4th Bachelor semester at TUM Weihenstephan and explains his motivation behind his choice of study in the video: "I've always enjoyed being in nature and talking to people, I've always been interested in sociological and ecological aspects of our living space. At the same time, I also wanted to work creatively."

The format, which presents professions in the training phase and career entry every Wednesday at 4 pm, is an excellent low-threshold way to draw attention to studying landscape architecture, also with the help of buzzwords relevant to the target group such as participation, artistic creativity and closeness to nature.

On the YouTube channel @alphaUni_ARD (over 80,000 subscribers), the films have achieved over 28,000 clicks to date (as of 26.8.2024). Creating visibility and awareness, especially among the young target group, is no easy task. The videos are therefore a precision landing in terms of the bdla's PR for young talent and a great success.
