This year, 17,000 people (18% of chamber members) took part in the biennial survey conducted by the chambers of architects, including representatives of interior design, urban planning and landscape architecture as well as structural architects.

Special reports were prepared for the respective disciplines.

For the 2023 reporting year, the economic indicators are still stable in many cases. However, rising turnover cannot compensate for inflation as a cost driver. The below-average hourly rates are also a cause for concern. This year, for the first time, employees in building administration were asked about the processing of building applications. The survey provides insights into the industry structure: the desire for part-time work is increasing, even among men. Chamber members are now on average 49 years old; office owners are even 55 years old. The proportion of offices run as PartG / PartG mbB and as GmbHs has continued to rise.
