2nd bdla Designer Days on 8 and 9 November 2019 in Berlin
"Details in wood and metal" will be the focus of the 2nd bdla Designer Days on 8 and 9 November 2019 in Berlin, illustrated by work reports from domestic and foreign landscape architecture firms and experts. The training event is aimed primarily at those landscape architects who are active in design, i.e. in the HOAI service phases two to five of the object planning outdoor facilities.
Wood is good!
The first day of the event will focus on the use of wood in outdoor spaces. Wood meets all the requirements of a contemporary building material: it is sustainable, recyclable and requires a minimum of energy for production and processing. So what is it all about? What are the reasons for its long tradition of use and processing, and what are innovative ways of dealing with wood as a building material? How is the use of wood also changing in the interplay with digital planning and manufacturing processes?
Heavy metal!
On the second day of the event, everything will revolve around new design and application possibilities for metal: "Heavy metal" or "holey like Swiss cheese" (corrosion damage)? New findings from research and practical planning examples are on the programme. From furniture design of the Bauhaus era to high-end surfaces.
Excursions round off the programme of the 2nd bdla Designer Days. A thematic excursion "Wood" is offered to the integrated secondary school Mahlsdorf, which is currently being built in wood. Alternatively, there will be a guided tour of the new Spreepark in Plänterwald.
