German Engineer Award Road and Traffic for NRT

The Weilheim State Construction Office was awarded the German Engineering Prize for Road and Traffic 2017 in the "Building Culture" category for the Echelsbach Bridge project.
Narr Rist und Türk (NRT) Landschaftsarchitekten bdla were commissioned with all landscape architectural and landscape ecological tasks on the project.
Laudator Rainer Ueckert praised on behalf of the jury at the award ceremony that the Weilheim State Building Authority not only succeeded in preserving the endangered monument with a great deal of creativity from a moderated planning dialogue and an engineering competition and in making it fit for the increased demands. The jury was also fascinated by the filigree solution, which respects monument and nature conservation, and that the aesthetics of the construction let one sense how avant-garde the building was 90 years ago.
