Since 2013, the Bavarian State Government has been working intensively to advance the issue of accessibility, with a particular focus on mobility, education and state buildings that are accessible to the public.

Public space is of particular importance for comprehensive and self-determined participation in social life, regardless of age, type or extent of handicap.

Landscape architecture firms are called upon to devote themselves intensively to this topic. In the future, accessibility will be a self-evident quality standard and planning standard. They must advise clients, activate funding opportunities and consistently implement accessibility.

The specialist day "Accessibility in outdoor spaces" on 28 June 2018 in Munich offers the opportunity to find out about the current state of discussion.

You will find a contribution on the content in our debate. Christine Degenhart, President of the Bavarian Chamber of Architects, and Oswald Utz, Honorary Commissioner for the Disabled of the City of Munich, have taken a stand on the topic here.
