An exhibition of a very special kind is on show at the Architekturmuseum Schwaben in Augsburg until 19 August: "Landscape for the City".
The brothers Gottfried and Anton Hansjakob present the most important works from their more than 50 years of planning work in the branch of the Architecture Museum of the Technical University of Munich.
In 1962 Gottfried Hansjakob, who was awarded honorary membership of the bdla in 2007, founded the landscape architecture office in Munich, which later passed to Gottfried and Anton Hansjakob. At times the brothers ran branch offices in Bonn (1971 - 1983), Augsburg (1970 - 1982) and Vienna.
Their planning activities covered the entire spectrum of landscape architecture, urban planning and green space planning. "They have won 80 first prizes in competitions and completed over 1000 projects in the fields of parks, squares, streets, cemeteries, lakeshores, pedestrian zones, etc., as well as open spaces for housing, office buildings, industrial plants, etc. The landscape architects gained international reputation with the design of the Rheinauenpark in Bonn, the Donauinsel in Vienna and the urban repair in the area of the Bavarian State Chancellery.
The exhibition "Landscape for the City" is on view until August 19, 2018, from Thursday to Sunday 2:00 to 6:00 pm.
