Conference Sustainable implementation of the energy transition. Weihenstephan, 26 November

The interventions that are necessary to implement the energy turnaround raise conflicts with nature conservation, since the carriers of renewable energies (wind energy, biogas plants) require an impairment of natural assets, especially species/habitat communities and the landscape.

A sustainable energy transition must not only be measured by the production figures of renewable energies, but must also take into account the concerns of species protection, recreational landscapes, etc. in a nature-compatible form.

The conference is intended to build a bridge between the production of renewable energies and nature conservation requirements. A fact-based discourse on the requirements of a nature-compatible energy transition is to be conducted in order to achieve an objectification in this social topic area.

In addition to conflicts with nature conservation and the necessary scope and mix for renewable energies of the future, conflict resolution options will also be discussed.

Representatives from practice, nature conservation associations, authorities and the energy industry are invited. The event takes place in close cooperation with the Bund Naturschutz.
