As Minister President Markus Söder (CSU), CSU parliamentary group leader Thomas Kreuzer as well as Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger and parliamentary group leader Florian Streibl (both Free Voters) announced at yesterday's press conference after the consultation of the coalition parliamentary groups, there will be no alternative draft of the state government to the petition for a referendum. Accordingly, the wording of the petition for a referendum is to go into the 1st reading in the Bavarian State Parliament in unchanged form on May 8. The aim of the round table talks, which will continue until the end of April and in which the bdla Bavaria is also involved, is to find regulations for the so-called "Ausgestaltungsgesetz".

Minister President Söder announced the "largest national draft for species protection in Germany in terms of finance, personnel and structure" and spoke of a "social and generational contract". He put the estimated costs at 50 to 70 million euros, and around one hundred new jobs are to be created.

The bdla Bavaria as alliance partner of the people's petition looks forward to the coming discussions and will accompany these gladly further technically constructively.

Date reference: On Thursday, 11 April the bdla Bavaria in Munich organizes a specialized seminar to the topic protection of species in the city, to which among other things advisers of the national federation for bird protection, the federation nature protection Bavaria and the LMU Munich are loaded.
