On 7 May 2020, a decision was made on the future of the Ingolstadt Regional Garden Show 2020.

The Supervisory Board of Landesgartenschau Ingolstadt 2020 GmbH met via video conference, for the first time with Lord Mayor Dr. Christian Scharpf as the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board. After in-depth discussion, the supervisory board unanimously voted to postpone the State Garden Show by one year. In the afternoon, the members of the newly elected Ingolstadt City Council endorsed the recommendation of the Supervisory Board.

Accordingly, the Ingolstadt State Garden Show will open its doors to visitors from near and far next year from 23 April - 3 October 2021.

Day and season tickets already purchased remain valid.

Since Friday, 24 April 2020, the originally planned opening date, there has been a small virtual glimpse of the grounds on the LGS homepage and social media channels. Because tulips, gold varnish, poppies, ranunculus, forget-me-nots and co. have blossomed on time and are happy to be admired - even if only from afar.
