Until November 30, the members of the bdla Bavaria could decide on the winners in the context of the Bavarian Landscape Architecture Award 2020.

Projects realized in Bavaria between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2019 could be submitted. Three projects in each of seven categories were nominated by a jury of experts from over 50 nationwide submissions:

- Sustainable Urban Development
- Building in Existing Contexts / Monument
- Living Environment
- Landscape Architecture for Children
- Working Environment
- Landscape Planning / Landscape Development
- Use of Plants / Greening of Buildings

The jury nominated six projects for the Bavarian Landscape Architecture Award itself.

Decision and announcement

The decision on the winners was made by the members of bdla Bavaria via online voting, which took place from 15 October to 30 November 2020.

Due to the unforeseeable pandemic situation, the board of bdla Bayern will decide on the date and type of award ceremony in January 2021. In any case, the results of the competition - regardless of this decision - will only be announced after the award ceremony.

Thesponsor of the competition, which is being held for the first time, is the Association of German Landscape Architects (bdla) Bavarian Regional Association, and the cooperation partner is the Bavarian Chamber of Architects. The patronage has taken over Minister of State Thorsten Glauber, Bavarian State Ministry for Environment and Consumer Protection.

Aim of the competition
The competition honours projects and plans in Bavaria that are distinguished by innovative and sustainable outdoor and landscape spaces of high quality, both in new and existing buildings. The bdla Bayern also explicitly invited the young generation of planners to participate in the competition in order to promote their professional ideals and visions.
