Munich should become greener, more beautiful and more liveable. In order to reward above-average efforts in the greening of courtyards, front gardens, outdoor facilities and commercial areas, the City of Munich has held the "More Green for Munich" competition every two years since 1974. The Department for Climate and Environmental Protection is accepting submissions for the current competition until June 30, 2024.

Entries are recognized in six different categories:

• exemplary design of front gardens
• exemplary design of outdoor facilities
• exemplary design of commercial areas
• exemplary design of courtyards
• exemplary personal achievements
• exemplary child-friendly living environment.

In addition to green courtyards, facades and roofs, this also includes species-rich flower beds, secluded seating areas and inviting play areas for children. If a submission is a residential building with greenery, at least three residential units must benefit from the greenery. Both professionally designed facilities and personal commitment and creativity will be judged. Properties that have already won an award cannot be entered again.
