Soil is a vital ecosystem in the truest sense of the word, but despite its importance, hardly anyone has taken an interest in it so far. According to a recent study, soil is the most species-rich habitat on earth, far outstripping other biodiversity hotspots. The planned Soil Health Act will give soil the same legal status as air and water. What is the state of soils in Germany? How can soils be protected and restored to a healthy state by 2050?

The following topics and questions will be discussed:

  • What image do floors have?

  • What significance do they have for society

  • What will change as a result of the Soil Monitoring Law

  • What targets should be set

  • Value and importance of soil biodiversity

  • Why is the forest soil soil of the year 2024?

  • What is the state of forest soils like

  • How will silviculture change, taking into account the parameters of climate change and sustainability?

  • What significance do soils have as climate regulators?
