"With the Landscape Architecture Award, we have now created a platform that communicates to the professional public the important role of landscape architecture in the canon of design and construction.
It becomes clear that intelligent, resource-saving and attractive open spaces actually play the main role in the built environment. Anyone who submits entries to this, whether small or large, is doing the profession an important service and benefits greatly themselves from the publicity this format receives," explains Christian Jürgensmann, 2nd Chairman of the regional group.
From November 1, 2017, the "nrw.landschaftsarchitektur.preis 2018" will be announced for the seventh time. Awarded for the first time in 2004, the North Rhine-Westphalian Landscape Architecture Prize has become an institution.
The prize, which is open exclusively to bdla members, documents the performance and creativity of landscape architects. The projects must have been realised in NRW and must not be older than four years.
Exemplary projects from the house garden to the city park are looked for, which distinguish themselves by qualityful and responsible planning. The company RINN Beton- und Naturstein and the Verband Garten-, Landschafts- und Sportplatzbau NRW e.V. are supporting this ambitious project.
The cooperation with the Museum für Architektur und Ingenieurkunst NRW (M:AI) allows for a mobile exhibition with a high public profile.
The deadline for submission of documents is then 26 January 2018 and the jury meeting will take place on 21 February 2018. The award ceremony is planned for the end of April 2018.
