Within the framework of the trade fair spoga/gafa in Cologne, the Practical Garden Day took place for the 5th time on 03.09.2018. Under the heading "Plants, Law, Facade Connections - Expertise for the Planning of Private Gardens " there were 5 lively and excellent content lectures.

The event started with a lecture by Alexander Koch, this year's winner of the "Gardens of the Year 2018" competition. From the technical topics, "Correctly planning and executing plinth connections" (Wolf D. Meyer-Ricks) and "Designing outdoor kitchens" (Mr. Kupka), the highly topical subject of "Climate-suitable trees and shrubs" (Klaus Körber) and "Building planning law in private gardens" (Astrid Kupschke) were discussed.

The event was fully booked with 150 registrations and ended with a convivial "get together" and good conversations. It is organised in cooperation between koelnmesse GmbH and Ulmer Verlag, and is supported by the bdla. A practical garden day is planned again in 2019 as part of spoga/gafa.
