Since 2004 we have been awarding the North Rhine-Westphalian Landscape Architecture Prize, which has since become an institution.

From 1 November 2019, the competition documents for the "nrw.landschaftsarchitektur.preis 2020" were available for download for our members for the eighth time. The prize, which is open exclusively to bdla members, documents the performance and creativity of landscape architects. The projects must have been realised in NRW and must not be older than four years. The closing date for entries was Friday, 07 February 2020.
The jury meeting will take place on 4 March 2020 in Düsseldorf. The award ceremony is scheduled for 7 May 2020 in the NRW Forum in Düsseldorf.
Exemplary projects ranging from home gardens to city parks are sought, which are distinguished by high-quality and responsible planning. The company RINN Beton- und Naturstein and the Verband Garten-, Landschafts- und Sportplatzbau NRW e.V. support the ambitious project.
The cooperation with the Museum für Architektur und Ingenieurkunst NRW (M:AI) allows for a mobile exhibition in which all submitted projects are presented to a broader public. The company RINN Beton- und Naturstein and the Verband Garten-, Landschafts- und Sportplatzbau NRW e.V. support the award.
"Climate change and housing shortages are causing increasingly extensive demands on open space. Resilient, resource-saving and attractive open spaces are becoming more and more an essential prerequisite for the quality of life in cities, but also in rural areas. With the Landscape Architecture Award we communicate the important role of landscape architecture and its facets to the professional public. We look forward to the submission of small or large project contributions that provide intelligent approaches to this," explains Christian Jürgensmann, 2nd Chairman of the regional group.
