"What's possible? - Urban open spaces and mobility" - this question is the title of the "Landscape Architecture Day 2024" of the Chamber of Architects of North Rhine-Westphalia on July 4 in Wuppertal. After all, one of the major urban planning challenges is the "mobility turnaround", which has long been a goal but has only been implemented to a limited extent.
The reclamation and reprogramming of traffic areas and the design of open spaces in the city are the topics of the symposium for landscape architects in North Rhine-Westphalia. The focus is on the question of what effects changing uses have on public space, the urban climate and the quality of stay. How can public space in cities and municipalities be reclaimed for green and blue uses, for climate protection, sustainability and the common good? - Participants will discuss these and other questions with invited experts, including Prof. Rainer Sachse, scape Landschaftsarchitekten, Düsseldorf, and HfWU Nürtingen-Geislingen, as well as Friedhelm Terfrüchte, DTP Landschaftsarchitekten, Essen, and board member of the NRW Chamber of Architects.
The event is recognized as further training for members of the NRW Chamber of Architects with four further training points.
