Development, trends and challenges for the profession
Landscape architecture is facing growing challenges: Climate change, the energy transition and the protection of biodiversity require new solutions and concepts. At the same time, the need for qualified landscape architects is growing, but the shortage of skilled workers is becoming increasingly noticeable. The bdla therefore conducts an annual survey of the number of first-year students and graduates at the 14 universities that offer landscape architecture courses that are eligible for chamber registration. The reported figures provide valuable information on how the profession is developing in terms of personnel. The total figures are now available for the period from 2013 to 2023 inclusive.
